We had a guest speaking come Freshman year 2010-2011 and he taught us about EKG and intubation. We had a unit on EKG and as a special treat Mr. Hardina had his friend come in who has been a medical technician for a while. I had fun learning how to intubating the mannequin. I succefully did it on my third try. I enjoyed this activity because someday depending on what I do for my career. I learned how to do it without braking the teeth.

Freshman Kaitlin Ellsworth moved to the school just for the biomedical program. She lives in the Higley Unified School District and attended a Queen Creek charter school last year.
"I've learned a lot," said Ellsworth, 14, who wants to be an obstetrician and gynecologist. "I've learned a lot about the body, especially by diagramming the parts of the body."
She learned to successfully intubate using the mannequin, and said she enjoyed learning about the cardiac monitor to see what the heartbeat does and how paramedics read its activity.

What is a Pump?
My teacher gave us some supplies as shown in the picture and said to get the water from one beaker to the other without toutching. I successfully did it first with my partner. I love science and it was a great experiment to have fun with. It resembles the blood flow of the heart and how the atrium and ventricle force it out of the heart; the same way the balloon forced water from one beaker to another.
